The energy requirements in Europe are constantly increasing, as are the environmental requirements for energy production. At the same time, electricity production will be further liberalized, existing routes will also function as transmission networks and the energy from the offshore wind farms have to be transported. Result: the requirements for the piping systems are increasing. The need for renovation and new construction remains correspondingly high. Omexom Hochspannung GmbH is fully specialized in the construction, extension and maintenance of high-voltage lines and masts.
Omexom Hochspannung GmbH has the requirement to level out the lower level of its masts before concreting. To do this, the legs of the mast must be lifted using lifting equipment until the level is perpendicular. So far, several rack jacks and pinion winches with a single weight of 45kg and more have been used. With great physical effort, several of these tools had to be dragged into the pit, which was up to 6m deep. Aligning the masts was also very complex and imprecise due to the rough mechanics. Fa. Ing. Karl Dressel is asked to provide an efficient solution.
Holmatro supplied 4 Multi-Purpose cylinders each with a capacity of 25 tons. These single acting cylinders have a spring return and total stroke length of 100 mm. Combined with a hand pump for controlling the cylinders, each pylons is lifted.
This hydraulic system of Holmatro is, as opposed to the use of rack jacks and pinion winches, easy to handle and can be transported by hand to the place of use, because of the weight of just 12 kg. The system is easy to use, precise, quick and has a safe alignment thanks to precise force metering with the hand pump PA04.
The following factors have been significantly improved through the use of the Holmatro’s cylinders and hand pumps: accuracy, quality of work, safety for employees and material and economic aspects.
